Subject [users@httpd] logresolve is not doing it job
Date Wed, 20 Aug 2003 21:50:54 GMT

apache 1.3.27 on linux

greetings,

because I turned off host lookup in the httpd.conf of
our www servers, I do post-processing (same day) logs
with Apache's logresolve this way:

logresolve -s ${statfile} -c < ${ucomp_logfile} > ${tempfile} 2>${errlog}

the ${errlog} contains no real errors but a lot of lines like:

Bad host: dial14-pm31-nv.tls.net != 65.196.227.145

that's bogus because that IP# 65.196.227.145 is dns resolvable.
How come logresolve is unable to resolve it?

Thanks,
Farid
