Subject [users@httpd] Streamed PDF: mod_deflate: >Remove<OutputFilterByType
Date Fri, 29 Aug 2003 20:03:08 GMT
Hi,

compressing output from mod_jk / mod_jk2 using apache/2 and mod_dfelate
works fine.

I'm in the need to avoid compression of dynamic backend output for specific
content types.
At least, the content type "application/x-pdf" must not be compressed in our
environment.

I tested 2 configurations using apache-2.0.47:

A) SetOutputFilter DEFLATE
    Will compress all and everything.
There seems to be no way to exclude compression of a specific content
type,
    e.g. "application/x-pdf".

B) AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE ....
Will compress whatever types i added.
    That's ugly!
To exclude a small number of content types from deflation,
any other possibly expected content type needs to get included
expressively.

Did i miss some information in the discussion groups or the manual?
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Niko
