Did you add /space/apache/bin to your PATH. 'apachectl' command depends on
other commands also. You need to add this directory to your PATH variable
first. 
Then add your libdb-4.1 to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH. 

Now try starting apache.

yes, I also tried $./apachectl start

error:
