Subject [users@httpd] Problem with sendRedirect
Date Wed, 18 Jun 2003 09:02:06 GMT

For a professionnel application, we've juste upgraded from Apache 1.3.23 to Apache 2.0.45
on a Windows 2000 Server, and when accessing some of our JSP pages (we also use Resin 2.1.9),
we have now this error which often occurs:

[2003/06/13 08:56:54] Can't sendRedirect() after data has committed to the client.
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Can't sendRedirect() after data has committed to the client.
 at com.caucho.server.http.Response.sendRedirect(
 at _wap._csacqcol__jsp._jspService(
 at com.caucho.jsp.JavaPage.service(
 at com.caucho.jsp.Page.subservice(
 at com.caucho.server.http.FilterChainPage.doFilter(
 at com.caucho.server.http.Invocation.service(
 at com.caucho.server.http.CacheInvocation.service(
 at com.caucho.server.http.RunnerRequest.handleRequest(
 at com.caucho.server.http.RunnerRequest.handleConnection(

We added this line in the JSP pages:

<%@ page buffer="10kb" %>

we also suppressed all unnecessary whitespaces but we still have the same problem.
How can we estimate the buffer size which we must use? Why did this problem never happen with
Apache 1.3?

Thanks for your help,
