Subject RE: [users@httpd] Coult not bind to port 80
Date Fri, 09 May 2003 05:57:23 GMT
Olga,

apache or someother web server isnt being started by inetd is it ?
what happens if you telnet to port 80 on the machine? does it respond ?

try typing this if you get a response:

GET / HTTP/1.0

followed by 2 carriage returns, i get this:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Fri, 09 May 2003 06:24:28 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.23 (Unix) PHP/4.2.2
Last-Modified: Thu, 06 Feb 2003 04:35:09 GMT
ETag: "33e75-0-3e41e5fd"
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Content-Length: 0
Connection: close
Content-Type: text/html

the above few lines should give to some clue as to what is
your port 80.

cheers
darrin
