Try doing "which ar" to see if this is installed or do "find / -type f -name ar -print". If
it's there maybe it's just not in your path??? Should be in /usr/ccs/bin if I remember.

Subject: RE: [users@httpd] Apache 2.045 for Sun

Hi,
I am trying to compile Apache 2.0.45 on Solaris 8 and I am getting the following errors.

/usr/local/wevs/apache/httpd-2.0.45/srclib/apr/libtool: ar: command not found
make[2]: *** [libapr-0.la] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/wevs/apache/httpd-2.0.45/srclib/apr'
make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/wevs/apache/httpd-2.0.45/srclib'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

Can anybody help with this?

Thanks,
Shobha
