Subject AW: AW: [users@httpd] clustering
Date Tue, 22 Apr 2003 08:34:54 GMT
Hi !

I am already using DNS round robin. That works OK. But this is only to load-balance to 2 or
3 frontend-servers. With mod_backhand, I can attach even more in the backend without knowing
from the outside. backhand is great ! But only working on Apache 1.3. There is no hurry to
change the config now, but in the long run, I guess we have to use Apache2, so I am asking
these questions now.

For everyone interested: At least there are thoughts about setting up backhand for apache2.
Maybe in one year or so, there will be a solution, but they have no timetable, and might even
not set it up.

If anyone has got any other ideas... I'll keep you up to date if I find another solution.

jhh

Have you tried to do load balancing with the DNS server.
I know that BIND supports this and should work with any
type of server you have.
For more information try the "BIND9 Administrator
Reference Manual" (search on the net).
