Since dso support is present (mod_so.c), you should be able to do it indeed.

You probably need to have a mod_deflate compiled for that specific version
though.

  I am not sure how Apache was originally setup. I have done a httpd -l and
get the following listing :

  core.c
  mod_win32.c
  mpm_winnt.c
  http_core.c
  mod_so.c

This would suggest mod_deflate is not present ? Can I not include
mod_deflate as a DSO at runtime ?
