Subject [users@httpd] Ab -Apache Bench usage
Date Fri, 04 Apr 2003 08:11:14 GMT
Hi list,

I attempted to get some figures from ab, with this command line :
bin/ab -c400 -t5 -n10000 -w http://192.168.146.11:2044/sample32.txt

After I got the results I seem to understand that the n (number of requests)
parameter has been invalidated because of the "t" (time to benchmark)
parameter presence, setting n to 50000 behind the scenes.

What I don't get is that it doesn't run 5 seconds, it runs half a second in
most cases. Some command lines very similar to that one (just other kind of
pages) can be benchmarked up to 0.86 second.

Any clue as how to interpret this apparent discrepancy ? User error, docs
error or misbehaviour ?

Thanks,

ECB
