Subject Re: [users@httpd] auth_ldap_module

After I have installed Apache 2.0.45 window32 binary version (apache_2.0.45-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi)
in W2K server, mod_auth_ldap.so and util_ldap are also located in the modules directory.
Then I obtain the Directory SDK C 5.08 for window NT from Sun.

If the bundle modules are not compactiable to LDAP C SDK, why can I
load them in Apache?

I doubt there is no error message in error log.

> You will need to obtain a version of mod_auth_ldap.so and
>
util_ldap.so that
> were compiled against the Netware LDAP SDK... we are
compiling the
> modules against the Win32 LDAP SDK (it's bundled with Win2K
and later,
> available as a free download for WinNT, and on the Win2K server
CD's
> for earlier Win9x versions.)
>
>
In fact someone could provide any number of alternate modules,
> e.g. for
> openldap, etc... there are several toolkits out there. The Win32
>
binarybuilder (me) chooses to take the easy way out, just as we
> would build
> ldap for openldap on Linux (where openldap is the most common ldap
>
toolkit package already installed.) We always try to go for the
> greatestavailability
when we make such choices.
>
> If you are on WinNT 4.0,
look here;
>
> http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/Other/adclient.asp
>
> Win2k and XP users need no extra download.
>
