RE: [users@httpd] RewriteHi
it doesn't work is not helpfull because it could mean many things ;-),
maybe a more description could help a bit.

It couldn't work because, some thoughts, :
a) you don't have mod_rewrite enabled ( check httpd.conf )
b) you don't have mod_proxy enabled ( check httpd.conf )
c) you don't have .htaccess parsed ( check AllowOverride )
d) you don't allow rewrite rules into your .htaccess ( check Options +FollowSymLinks )

  Hi,
  Nikunj suggestion was right because he put it on a vh block.

  You said you are using an .htaccess so you need to use

  RewriteEngine On
  RewriteRule (.*)  http://1.1.1.1/$1 [P]

  because the "URIs" is stripped inside an .htaccess

  RewriteRule (.*)  http://1.1.1.1$1 [P]

  If fails to work. Any ideas?

  Make sure you have proxy and rewrite module installed on with your
  apache. Configure your virtualhost "xyz.domain.com" some thing like
  this:

  <VirtualHost a.b.c.d:80>
  ServerName xyz.domain.com
  DocumentRoot /var/www/html/xyz
  RewriteEngine On
  RewriteRule (.*)  http://1.1.1.1$1 [P]
  </VirtualHost>

  I assume here that you need to forward all the requests coming on
  xyz.domain.com to 1.1.1.1. If you have some other requirements please
  revert back.

  Hope it helps!

  Nikunj Virani

  Here is my situation. I have a subdomain xyz.domain.com that needs
  to redirect all traffic to ip address 1.1.1.1

  When you go to http://xyz.domain.com/some/other/folder i want that to
  automatically forward to http://1.1.1.1/some/other/folder

  Another thing that would be nice, is if it could keep the
  xyz.domain.com/some/toher/folder in the title bar, rahter than
  displaying the ip.

  Any suggestions??

  THanks!
