Subject Re: [users@httpd] How to interpret numeric error codes in logs???
Date Fri, 28 Mar 2003 03:50:42 GMT

Joshua,

Great link.  Thanks very much.

Here's the next puzzle. This is from the access log of one of the
virtual hosts on the same system. This particular virtual host looks
like this:

<VirtualHost 192.168.0.103:443>
    ServerAdmin webmaster
    DocumentRoot /var/www/html/foo-net
    ServerName www.foo.net
    ErrorLog logs/error_log
    TransferLog logs/transfer-log
    CustomLog logs/access_log
</VirtualHost>

Its access log looks like this:

192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:04:44:27 -0500] "\x16\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:08:59:52 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:08:59:54 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:08:59:56 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:08:59:57 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:08:59:59 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:09:00:12 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [22/Mar/2003:09:00:18 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [26/Mar/2003:14:48:47 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03\x01" 501 -
192.168.0.103 - - [26/Mar/2003:14:48:47 -0500] "\x80F\x01\x03" 501 -

Yeah, the Request field is a series of hex values (it seems). How do I
figure those out. Again, is there a table or file I can refer to for
deciphering?

Red-Hat/Linux 7.2
Apache/1.3.27 (Unix)
mod_ssl/2.8.12
OpenSSL/0.9.6b (patched)
