Subject: [users@httpd] apache 2, SSLVerifyClient Optional

Hi List,

I have an Apache 2 running with SSL and
an SSL-API (Baltimore KeyTools) for making connections to that server

I compiled Apache with --enabe-ssl

If I configure SSLVerifyCLient Optional in a <Location> or <Directory>-
context
---snip---
<Location />
   SSLVerifyClient Optional
   SSLVerifyDepth 10
</Loaction>
---snap---
and I connect to that server without having a certificate, everything
works fine

On the other hand:
if I configure SSLVerifyCLient Optional in in the global SSL-context
---snip---
SSLVerifyClient Optional
SSLVerifyDepth 10
---snap---
and I connect to that server without having a certificate, the server
rejects me with error 'No CLient Certificate'

Has anybody seen this before? Perhaps a bug? Or is this an issue to
mod_ssl (even with apache 2???).

Btw: Apache 1.3 + mod_ssl behaves just the same.

Kind regards,

Chris
