I've also heard that some of the firewall apps no longer error out on 2.0.44
but might exhibit hanging instead.  Makes you long for the nasty errors
that told you what was going on, no?

Are you running any firewall or internet-antivirus software (e.g. antivirus
protection for web pages?)
