Subject [users@httpd] [ANNOUNCE] distcache 0.4pre2
Date Mon, 24 Mar 2003 03:26:47 GMT
Hi all,

Just briefly, a new version of "distcache" has been released and is
available via the web site at;

    http://www.distcache.org/

An Apache 2 support package exists for 2.0.44, and Apache 1.3 support is
available for mod_ssl versions 2.8.14 and 2.8.12.

If you're interested in SSL/TLS session caching, please check it out.
It's performance should be comparable to shmcb, should be noticably
better than shmht, and unlike either, will allow you to share a cache
between multiple servers (read: "you can forget about SSL-sticky
load-balancers at last"). Of course unless you try it out, you won't
know... :-)

Please consider trying out the code and letting us know how you get on
by mailing the distcache-users mail list (as described on the web site).

Regards,
Geoff
