Subject [users@httpd] Setting up a Reverse proxy
Date Mon, 03 Mar 2003 16:57:02 GMT
I want to set up a reverse proxy using apache 2 to oracle application server.

I am trying to map my external address eg. http://external to internal address http://internal

for example I would like http://external/helpdesk/client/main/index.jsp to map http://internal:7777/Helpdesk/client/main/index.jsp

So really I think I need to change /helpdesk/*whatever* to :7777/Helpdesk/*whatever* but only
ever let the user see the external address in their browser.

I can get part way there by adding:

ProxyPass /helpdesk/ http://192.168.0.2:7777/Helpdesk/
ProxyPassReverse /helpdesk/ http://192.168.0.2:7777/Helpdesk/

But this does not dynamicaly change hyperlinks in the returned documents.

I think I need to use RewriteRule to do this but this seems quite complicated.

Please Help,

Martin
