Subject [users@httpd] transparent proxy using Host: HTTP field
Date Mon, 17 Mar 2003 12:19:04 GMT
Hi

I would like to use apache as a transparent proxy server (along with
some other ACLs which I have setup using mod_rewrite).

The problem is that it works when I telnet in and request using:

        GET HTTP://servername.domain/url HTTP/1.0

However it does not work when I (and most browsers) request as:

        GET /url HTTP/1.1
        Host: servername.domain

Is there a patch, a workaround, or some established and tested rewrite rules
that
I could deploy to get this to work ?

Thanks
  Gary
