Yes, all machines are running on Linux (2.4.18 usually). However all the 
users are just strange /etc/passwd users.

I am 99% sure that this only started to happend once we moved to 1.3.27

Scans of old logs do not show any matches for this error message - however 
as soon as we switched to 1.3.27 we immediatly had users complaining of the 
problem.
