Subject RE: [users@httpd] download file size
Date Tue, 18 Feb 2003 09:52:20 GMT
Hi,
Actually in my case the application server generates a csv file from
database and then client can download it. It varies if I try to generate a
report and download it 2 times on the same browser.

I got similar problem (not exact same). If I use Netscape browser and
download a file from server, I am loosing few bytes. If I use Internet
Explorer, it downloads correctly. No solution for this so far (Stopped
using Netscape :-) )

Sorry, let me rephrase it. Clients are not getting any error messages. The
only problem is the download file size. Same client tried to download the
same file on the same computer. There was a little difference between them.
The first one was 50.8 MB and the second one was 50.9 MB.

You'll need to be more specific. What kind of errors?

There are many reasons, one is in which you'll see a 206-code in the log
(not an error-code) which means a client only downloaded a part of the
resource. This could be because the client already has a part of it.
