Unfortunately I don't have access to httpd.conf, so can't set up a 
rewrite log (can't do it from .htaccess - I tried)

Also (I should not have copied from the old message) the whole "cgi" 
part of the RewriteRule doesn't mean anything.  It should be more like:

	RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.myserver.*
	RewriteRule  / [L,R=301]
