Oh, with that number of domains, the easiest way is to use mod_vhost_alias which was introduced
back at Apache 1.3.9 or thereabouts. Make sure it is compiled in, of course. Then,instead
of creating umpteen virtual host containers you define one virtual document root with tokens
which 'hold' the appropriate hostname or IP address. You will want to use IP address to avoid
the 'cost' of dns lookups.

Downside? you can no longer specify individual error or access logs.

Upside? hundreds and hundreds of lines kep out of your config file.
