You should be able to do this without any problem at all.

If you set it up as...

  ProxyPass /NE8  http://4.0.8.1
  ProxyPass /func/ http://4.0.8.1/func/
  ProxyPass /NE9  http://4.1.7.1
  ProxyPass /func2/ http://4.1.7.1/func/

The key is that you can only map one user-side location to one private-side
location.  For example, you can't have /func map to two different places.
