yes jason i occasionally run slackware.... but i am not doing it at the
moment...what has happened is a dns client/server issue that sent my browser
to amoeba.micro.org which generated a web page telling me that apache was
installed on my system.. i never even asked for amoeba.so and so.
the dns is haywire and apache got involved because for some reason they
chose to make a default page that tells people apache has been installed on
their computer....
a crazy scenerio but we did learn a little about dns and now i hear that
dynamic dns source is available this should help apache improve their web
server so you don't have to use the stupid `
to add web sites .....once they integrate ddns with appropriate directory
structrures you can just type up a web page in your word processor, place it
in a different directory for each domain and give it its own virtual ip and
complete domain name so you can host thousands of web sites each with their
own domain name on one little hard disk...let me see if you charge 25$ for
each domain hosted times 10000 that is a little bit of money each month
coming in for isps.
