If they are in a directory like /var/www/* or /home/httpd/*

Just use a directory listing (on Linux ls -la or something with flags like
that) then script something to build the containers you want and import them
into the conf file.

Surely though some kind of tape backup (archive) must exist - Rule #1 for
admins......
