The apache binary exepcts to be able to load this library at run-time but can't find it. To allow it to find it, you have to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include the path to the directory containing the lib. In future, compile apache with LD_RUN_PATH set to this directory - then the path will be complied in and you don't need to bother about LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
