Subject RE: [users@httpd] Error pages
Date Mon, 27 Jan 2003 21:41:18 GMT
Okay so this is what I did:
C:\ copy con .htaccess
ErrorDocument 404 /error404me.html
^z

Then I uploaded this file to the my website. When I tried to access it I got
a 500 error.
I went back and changed the .htaccess file to this:
ErrorDocument 404 http://www.myisp.com/username/error404me.html

Now I can access my site but when I try an unknown page I get a 500 error.
Does this mean my ISP doesn't allow me to have my own custom error pages?

Many thx so far, I know I'm a newbie at this but I can't find anything that
explains the procedure that you describe. All I get are sites telling me how
to do this in a conf file.

Just what I say there (the part inside the quotes). See the documentation
on ErrorDocument for more details.
