Subject [users@httpd] (76)Socket is not connected: apr_accept: (client socket)
Date Sat, 14 Dec 2002 20:47:12 GMT
Our site is running Apache 2.0.4 under AIX 4.3.1.

At regular intervals, the following problem occurs: No
requests run to completion, although httpd is still up
and running. In the error log, the following error
message is shown:

(76)Socket is not connected: apr_accept: (client socket)

When this is going on, the command netstat -na shows
connections stuck in the CLOSE_WAIT state.

The only remedy to this situation seems to be to stop
Apache and start it anew.

We have found a method to reproduce this: If the
MaxClients directive is changed from the default 150
to 2, the problem can be provoked within minutes
by performing GET requests from a few workstations.

Is anybody aware of a fix to this problem?

Regards,

            Ylva
