Subject [users@httpd] apache 1.3.27 install problem
Date Tue, 03 Dec 2002 14:32:47 GMT
Hi Folks

I am definitely a newbie when it comes to apache and php so please bear
with me , thanks.

I am on solaris 5.8 , using gcc 2.8.1 compiler, and trying to install
php 4.2.3 (as module of apache)
and apache 1.3.27.

The steps I tried are .

1. Set shell to bash
2. Run apache configure
  ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/test/apache_1.3.27
3. Run php configure
  ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--with-apache=/usr/local/src2/apache/apache_1.3.27
4. make ( for php)
5. make install ( for php)
6. Re-run apache configure with the php module added:
  ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/test/apache_1.3.27 \
                  --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libmodphp4.a
7. make ( for apache)

It is at the make for apache that I have problems, I get the following
:-

Since the problem looked like the compilation was failing due to it not
finding some include files
I tried using the INCLUDES environmental variable. Setting it ,
rerunning the configure then the
make. (INCLUDES=-I/usr/local/php/include/php ). Unfortunately it still
fails.

I am hoping this might be a strightforward problem but we shall see.

Thanks in andvance for any help or advice.

Regards, Archie
