I have corrected the zone file so there is now a response to dig looking
for both an A and a PTR record.  I am now able to get to
www.mrktechweb.com from the machine that is the server but still not
from another machine.

You can, but not me. No response in PTR query, neither in a "A" query.
dig dns1.mrktechweb.com -t PTR
nothing
dig dns1.mrktechweb.com -t A
nothing, too.

named-checkzone "zone" "filename" is your friend.
