Subject [users@httpd] error message numbers
Date Fri, 15 Nov 2002 23:53:52 GMT

Hi, I'm getting some of this in my access log. I guess someone's trying to
break in,

since perl is not installed (?), and I'm running Apache 2.043 on w2k....

67.32.38.86 - - [11/Nov/2002:19:36:07 -0600] "GET

/_vti_bin/..%255c../..%255c../..%255c../winnt/system32/cmd.exe?/c+dir
HTTP/1.0"

404 315

67.32.38.86 - - [11/Nov/2002:19:36:15 -0600] "GET

/scripts/..%%35%63../winnt/system32/cmd.exe?/c+dir HTTP/1.0" 400 288

I know what a 404 error message is, but what is 400? Or 304? 200 means,
'OK',

right? Does anyone know of a list of these numbers can be found? Which are

related to error messages, and so on....
TIA,
michael
