Subject [users@httpd] URL mapping to filesystem
Date Wed, 02 Oct 2002 14:32:23 GMT
Hello!

I downloaded a mirror of www.pc.ibm.com/store. Wget is ordered to place the whole dir structure
under /pub/wget/store/www.pc.ibm.com/store/
I'd like to get the pages on my server url rss.ibm.com/store
Based on suggestions of http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/urlmapping.html first I tried an
Alias like that:
Alias /store/ "/pub/wget/store/www.pc.ibm.com/store/" and than:
Alias /store "/pub/wget/store/www.pc.ibm.com/store"

The openeing page can be accessed. Fine. But when I click on a link on the main index.html
to look at another page, which is in a subdirectory of /pub/wget/store/www.pc.ibm.com/store/
, I get the following
error message:
>>>
Not Found

The requested URL /pub/wget/store/www.pc.ibm.com/store/products/index.html was not found on
this server.

Apache/2.0.42 Server at crow.bud.hu.ibm.com Port 80
<<<

I have got the same result when trying AliasMatch, Redirect and filesystem symlink.

I use the following wget command to mirror the original site:
/usr/bin/wget --directory-prefix=/pub/wget/store --proxy=on -e http_proxy=proxy.hu.ibm.com
--mirror --page-requisites --convert-links --no-parent --domains=ibm.com --exclude-domains=testcase.boulder.ibm.com
--
output-file=/pub/wget/store.log http://www.pc.ibm.com/store

"--convert-links" converts the links in html pages to relative links.

How should I configure Apache2 to be able to serve the whole mirror?

Thanks.
Bal√°zs.
