Well, not all decisions are mine, but things are not what should be. In any case, we have
finally decided to go with .27

In my opinion, that is just silly.  Take a look at the CHANGES_1.3 file 
on httpd.apache.org and you'll see that the only differences between 
1.3.26 and 1.3.27 are a very few small bug fixes and security updates.

You should always do your own testing on any software you use, but 
refusing to use something just because it is "recent" is not a good 
strategy.
