Are you actually analyzing them for your users or just giving them access to the raw logs?
 That would be a huge security problem in the long run.
 
How about using:
http://search.cpan.org/author/AKIRA/Apache-ParseLog-1.02/ParseLog.pm
 
Then publishing the results to a normal DocRoot directory?

	Hi, I would like to create a symbolic link to my /var/logs/<apache_stats>.
	Is there a special way to do this in the httpd file. I am using FreeBSD as
	my OS. I want my users to be able to download there stats whenever they
	like.
