Subject [users@httpd] configuration issue
Date Mon, 28 Oct 2002 22:00:48 GMT
Hi there,

A simple problem. In the httpd.conf file I have the following:

<Directory "/home/httpd/htdocs">
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews

What I want to be able to do is have people be able to access only the
index.html file in each directory but not see the contents of the entire
directory (which I think is what 'MultiViews' means).

example: http://name.com/docs/ would bring up
http://name.com/docs/index.html and nothing else - if there were no
index.html file in the directory it couldn't be accessed at all.

So far I have tried:

Options None

Then http://name.com/docs/ cannot be accessed at all.

Grateful for any suggestions,

John Greenham
