Subject [users@httpd] Recompiling apache
Date Tue, 22 Oct 2002 20:57:01 GMT
Dear List,

I install apache as folows:

1. Install openssl:
  change to its source directory (cd openssl-0.9.6g)
  $ ./config
    $ make
    $ make test
    $ make install

2. Install mod_ssl:
  change to its source directory (cd mod_ssl-2.8.11-1.3.27)

./configure --with-apache=../apache_1.3.27 --with-ssl=../openssl-0.9.6g --pr

3. Install mod_perl:
  change to its source directory (cd mod_perl-1.27)
  perl Makefile.PL APACHE_SRC=../apache_1.3.27/src DO_HTTPD=1 USE_APACI=1
EVERYTHING=1  SSL_BASE=/usr/local/ssl
  make test (for this to work you need to open temporarily tcp port 8529 in
the firewall)
  make install

4. Install apache
  change to its source directory (cd apache_1.3.27)
  make install ( I did not want to create a test certificate issuing first
make certificate, I will waite to test with a real one.

Now I want to add PHP module with Mysql support
What should I do?
Should I repeat the above steps and add the following before compiling

$ cd php-4.x.y
$ ./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs
$ make
$ make install
