But I don't think you understand how alias work. :) When I copy the SAME
file to my document root and open it up with explorer it asked if I want to
save it. (I want this) When I point an alias to the same directory in root
but access it using the alias explorer open's the text file. (this I do not
want)

Therefore, the alias must have something to do with telling my browser what
to do with it.
