I was just anout to upgrade to 1.3.27 myself so I very curious. But you'll
need to give us some more info. What does your error-log say? Do you have a
few examples of the directories that are and are not accessible? Perhaps an
ls -al of the dirs in question? Running virtual hosts? Using rewrite-engine?
Perhaps an output of your httpd.conf would not hurt either.

I'm not familiar with the Apache architecture, but I doubt that Apache keeps
track of directories within it's documentroot. This would be quite
resource-intentive. Are there any changes in configuration-directives?
