All right, have it working on a virtual host but I can't use / for the root directory. Only
the full path. Does this mean apache will do a DNS look up every time someone can't find a
web page? Or will it remember the ip mapping for my domain?

Thanks, I didn't really know what it's called. I want to create a custom 404 error. Is it
possible to have different 404 error's with virtual domains?

I think you mean a custom 404 error, or pages like it.

    What version of apache?

    Docs @ http://httpd.apache.org/docs/custom-error.html

How do you modify this? Can't find any examples.
