Subject [users@httpd] apache 2.0.39 (incl. mod_ssl) + rainbow cryptoswift card --- unable to start server.
Date Mon, 09 Sep 2002 07:33:13 GMT
Hi,
We are trying to configure an apache + mod_ssl server with rainbow
cryptoswift card support on a linux machine.

The environment is :
    Machine, O/s :
        IBM PC, 128 MB RAM
Red Hat Linux release 7.0 (Guinness)
        Kernel 2.2.16-22 on an i686
        Rainbow CryptoSwift Acceleration PCI Card

    Webserver Software :
        Apache 2.0.39 (incl. mod_ssl)
        openssl-engine-0.9.6a
        Jakarta-Tomcat-4.1.7

Rainbow CryptoSwift card was installed and the driver is in
/usr/Rainbow_Technologies/CryptoSwift_IK_3.2.0/runtime/dist/driver/2.2.1
6-22
/cspci.o

Openssl was configured from the directory
/usr/local/openssl-engine-0.9.6a,
using the command :
./config --openssldir="/usr/local/openssl" shared

Apache was configured from /usr/local/httpd-2.0.39 directory, using the
following command sequence :
./configure_apache.sh (script attached along in this mail)
Makefile edited to add the directive "EXTRA_LIBS = -ldl"
    make clean
    make
    make install
Then the httpd.conf, ssl.conf files are edited to suit the requirement
for
enabling ssl. The following directive
SSLCryptoDevice cswift
is added in ssl.conf file to enable the ssl thru cryptoswift card. These
files also are attached
along in this mail. The files testsite.key and testsite.crt i.e., the
private key and certificate files for the
domain, www.testsite.com are present in the conf directory of apache.

The mod_ssl.h file, used for apache configuration is also attached in
this
mail.

The command "httpd -L | grep Device", is showing this :
SSLCryptoDevice (mod_ssl.c)
SSL external Crypto Device usage (`builtin', `...')

When starting the apache server, using the command "apachectl startssl",
the following error is being thrown :
/squid/apache/apache2/bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries:
/squid/apache/apache2/bin/httpd: undefined symbol: ENGINE_by_id

Also, there are no log files generated in the logs directory to find out
any
further info. reg this error.

Is there anyway to fix this. Any help in this regard will be highly
appreciated.

TIA
sarath
