Read the rest of the thread - there is no solution. You cannot do what you want to do using
the standard HTTP authentication scheme (NB this is a feature of HTTP - not just apache).

To achieve your desired behaviour you will have to forget about LDAP and mod_auth and program
the whole thing in CGI.
