Neither - rebuild server with mod_proxy:

In httpd.conf for server on 1.2.3.4

    ProxyPass /webstats/ http://4.3.2.1:5678/
    ProxyPassReverse /webstats/ http://4.3.2.1:5678/

(modified from a 2.0.39 server config file :)
