Subject [users@httpd] suEXEC support after apache has been installed?
Date Thu, 29 Aug 2002 21:15:50 GMT

is there a way to activate the
support of suexec after installing
the apache? I did the following:

In support/ I changed suexec.h
and typed in "make suexec".
Then I did these commands:

# cp suexec /usr/local/apache2/bin
# chown root /usr/local/apache2/bin/suexec
# chmod 4711 /usr/local/apache2/bin/suexec

Then I stopped the apache and tried to
use suEXEC:
Invalid command 'SuexecUserGroup', perhaps mis-spelled
or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

ls /usr/local/apache2/bin -la looks
like this:

-rws--x--x 1 root staff 55286 29. Aug 23:00 suexec

Any hints? Or must I really recompile
my Apache 2.0.40? I mean it was somehow
possible in apache 1.3.x?

Bye and thanks,
