Take a look at this page:

Subject: Re: Apache requests

Hy.

My setup is the following:

I have 3 apache who are loadbalanced bei balance, a commandline tool.
The apache machines each have 2 interfaces, one with a public IP, one
with a private IP.
The 4 tomcat machines are located in the private subnet, so they are not
visible to the outside world.
Communication between the apache machines and the tomcat machines
(loadbalancing) is handled via mod_jk.
The requests the apache machines forward to the tomcat machines always
show the inner IP of the apache server.

I am not familiar with mod_proxy, I always thought that you use it just
for, well, proxying apache servers.
If you think mod_proxy could solve my problem I would be more than
thankful for any help concerning configuration.

Thank you very much for your help!!!

Martin
