Michael: This is the version I have:
Server Version: Apache/1.3.26 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2510

I have gone from 1.3.19 to 1.3.22 to 1.3.24 and now 1.3.26 no problem.
Used
this one from ports: apache_fp-1.3.26_1
