Subject 3 days of mod_rewrite madness - please help?
Date Fri, 14 Jun 2002 01:41:11 GMT

First let me say I've been to
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_rewrite.html
and http://www.engelschall.com/pw/apache/rewriteguide/

I have been trying to figure this out for 3 days without any luck.

My problem:

I am trying to figure out the mod_rewrite rule that would make it so:

requests to http://www.site-one.com/foo/bar.cgi would be served from
http://site-two.com/foo/bar.cgi or /path/to/sitetwo/footwo/bar.cgi
and still keep http://site-one.com/foo/bar.cgi in the browser address bar.

Anyone know how to do this?

The closest I can get is

RewriteRule ^foo\.bar$ http://www.site-two.com/footwo/bar.cgi [R]

But the R rewrites/redirects the url in the address bar too =(.

bar.cgi does not exist at www.site-one.com/foo/bar.cgi, but we want to give
the user the impression that it does.

Thanks for any help.
