Subject apache web page indicating successful installation.
Date Wed, 26 Jun 2002 17:18:25 GMT
hi,
i have a problem that is probably very basic, but i can't find out
what is wrong- i just installed the apache package from
www.sunfreeware.com onto my Sun/Solaris machine. everything looks fine,
and i get the apache page that indicates that is is running, but i
can't see any of my html pages that i have in
/usr/local/apache/htdocs.
the apache web page that comes up says
'apache webserver successful.....'
but then says
'are you seeing this instead of the website you expected? this page is here
because the site administrator has changed the configuration of this
webserver.'
i'm the site administrator, and the Sun i am installing software
on was just built - installed Solaris, httpd, apache, etc. other packages.
i apologize if this is a really dumb question, but does anyone know
what might be not set up correctly in apache to generate the message
above?
again, i apologize if the answer should be obvious, i'm in a bad time crunch
and i can't figure this out.
Muriel
