Subject ErrorLog/CustomLog worked on Apache 1.3 but not on 2.0

I have these statements in my Apache 1.3 http.conf file and they work fine
and do what you would expect:<br>
  <pre>ErrorLog  "| \"C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/CronoLog/cronolog.exe\"
CustomLog "| \"C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/CronoLog/cronolog.exe\" logs/access_%m_%Y.log"
common env=!DontLog</pre>
But these same statements cause Apache 2.0 to fail to start. Why would that
To my absolute astonishment, Apache's truly wonderful error reporting doesn't
help with this. <br>
