Subject: tarring, gzipping log files (nearly offtopic)

Good day to all.

I would like my log files be tarred, gzipped and stored in an
appropriate directory. The problem is that I cannot figure out how I can
create *.tar.gz files so that an additional information is added to
their names, i.e. day, month and year as the CRONOLOG does.

    For example: logs_16_06_2002.tar.gz

Please, tell me or point me to an appropriate resource.

PS: Sorry to mention I'm still on Win32 :-(

Thanks in advance,
                            Dmitry.
