The answer is: the browser will parse them, not the server. This is = fine if you are just learning and you can restrict yourself to the most = recent versions of the browsers. If you need to serve older browsers, then = you need to transform. There are tons of ways to do this, including Cocoon (java), AxKit (Perl), mod_xml (C), and PHP to name just a few.
