Subject Re: Apache and ASP

Okay, now I've tried it. Had a little trouble installing on Win2k &
1.3.24 (no module for Apache 2 yet -
http://www.chilisoft.com/kb/kb_display.asp?200204161 ), but found the
solution at http://www.chilisoft.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=414

I haven't tried iASP (http://www.halcyonsoft.com), but it looks like
that won't support Apache 2.0 either. Their support chart
(http://www.halcyonsoft.com/docs/iasp/config/supported.htm) stops at
Apache 1.3.12.

However, unless you're porting old IIS/ASP applications, I'd really
recommend using PHP (http://www.php.net/) which includes COM support
under windows, and follows developments with Apache very closely. It's
different than ASP (which is really a scripting framework rather than a
scripting language), but an excellent tool for server-side scripting.
And it's completely free!

If you're just learning ASP, and want to develop & test, ChiliSoft has
a
free developer version -
http://www.chilisoft.com/chiliasp/devedition.asp (I personally
haven't tried it yet - more of a PHP & Java man).
